Healthy & Safe Communities

The purpose of the Healthy & Safe Communities (HSC) Section is to support individuals, families and communities by providing quality programs that protect and enhance the health and safety of all North Dakotans.

This section includes the following divisions:

• Provide education, resources and services.
• Facilitate systems change and implementation of effective policies.
• Engage in statewide partnerships.

Health Resources & Response

The Health Resources & Response Section is responsible for the planning and coordination of the public health and medical response, as well as administering the nurse aide registry and reviewing and approving health facility construction plans and conducting on-site inspections of new projects.

The section consists of the following divisions:

  • Health Facilities 
  • Life Safety & Construction

Medical Services

The goal of the Medical Services Section is to prevent disease and disability in North Dakota. The section is responsible for disease prevention, surveillance and identification as well as epidemiologic investigation and forensic examinations.

The section includes the following divisions:

The Financial & Operations Section is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and provides support services to assist all NDDoH sections.
