What is Project Firstline?

North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are collaborating on infection prevention and control trainings and education for healthcare workers in the state of North Dakota. We are excited to bring you training series that are suited to the unique needs of the working groups that we serve. 

We will be offering trainings and training series through Project Firstline so you can learn practical ways to keep germs from spreading in your workplace and beyond, keeping you and everyone around you safer and healthier.

Upcoming Project Firstline Trainings - Topics 1-5

NDDoH in collaboration with Project Firstline is launching a FREE five part training series on infection control and prevention. Because every job and setting in healthcare and related services is different we are bringing you training sessions to meet your unique needs. Find the group training session that meets your needs and sign up for a customized training experience! FREE CEU is available through NDBON, one credit hour per topic. Additional training topics will be coming in the future, so check back for updates.

Training Topics:

  • Topic 1: The Concept of Infection Control and Guest Speakers from NDSU on Vaccination
  • Topic 2: The Basic Science of Viruses
  • Topic 3: How Respiratory Droplets Spread
  • Topic 4: How Viruses Spread from Surfaces to People
  • Topic 5: How COVID-19 Spreads: A Review

Training Groups:

  • Professional Group Training: This series is intended for healthcare professionals such as licensed nursing staff, physicians, therapists, pharmacy staff, dental staff, and more.
  • CNA, EVS, Dietary Group Training: This series is intended for nursing assistants, dietary staff, environmental services staff, non-licensed direct care providers and support staff.
  • Correctional Facilities Group Training: This series is intended for staff at correction and detention facilities.
  • Group Home and Congregate Setting Training: This series is intended for staff who work in a group home, residential habilitation, and day programs serviced by the Department of Human Services for people with developmental disabilities. 
  • Local Public Health Units Group Training: This series is intended for all workers at Local Public Health Units.
