Bakken Restart Task Force established to outline plan forward to strengthen North Dakota’s energy future

Categories: CoronavirusThe Department of Mineral Resources has established the Bakken Restart Task Force to facilitate rapid recovery of the oil and gas industry and supporting sectors impacted by COVID-related demand shock.
The task force includes Mineral Resources, Public Service Commission, Environmental Quality, Trust Lands, Pipeline Authority, Office of Management and Budget, Tax Department, Commerce, Bank of North Dakota and input requested from various industry subject matter experts.

Commerce in partnership with other agencies, issued the statewide survey in April to gain a better understanding of how the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is impacting communities and individuals across the state.

State Parks Announces Reopening of Campgrounds

Categories: CoronavirusThe North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department announces the reopening of state park campgrounds. In alignment with the North Dakota Smart Restart Campaign, the department will be opening all campgrounds, except Little Missouri State Park, on May 9 for no-service camping. Starting May 21, all parks will be opened with limited service for this season.
Highway Patrol Sees Increase in Speeding Citations over 10 mph

Categories: CoronavirusDespite there being fewer vehicles on the road due to COVID-19, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) has seen an increase in speeding citations issued for drivers exceeding the speed limit by over 10 mph. From March 15 to April 15, 2020, citations issued for speeds in excess of 10 mph have increased by 38% when compared to a 3-year average (2016-2018) of the citations issued during the same time period.
