BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) is hosting a flu season virtual kickoff event Monday, September 27, at 9:00am CT. The event will be streamed live on the NDDoH social media channels and will have a virtual press room for the media to use to ask questions.

Speakers at the flu kickoff press briefing will include: Governor Doug Burgum; State Health Officer Nizar Wehbi, MD; NDDoH Respiratory and Syndromic Surveillance Epidemiologist Levi Schlosser; and Dr. David Field from Sanford Health.

“Getting vaccinated is the safest and easiest way to protect yourself from the flu, while also protecting your family and community as well,” Burgum said.

Each speaker will be speaking on the severity of influenza as well as the efficacy of the influenza vaccine. The speakers will also be getting their influenza vaccination live for the public to see.

The press briefing will be streamed live on the NDDoH Facebook, NDDoH Twitter, and NDDoH YouTube channels.

No registration is necessary. Due to time constraints, not all questions submitted may be asked, and questions may be limited to one question per media outlet depending on volume.
