Interoperability

Memorandum of Understanding

Providers wishing to connect directly to the NDIIS will need a fully executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ND Department of Health. The completed MOU should be emailed to the NDIIS Interoperability Project Manager, Kris Vollmer.

On-Boarding Forms

The Registration of Intent and Roles and Responsibilities Matrix forms must be completed and submitted to the NDIIS interoperability team prior to the start of any on-boarding activities. Submisison of the Registration of Intent form will place your provider site/provider group in queue for connection to the NDIIS.

Go Live Forms

The HL7 Responsibilities and Contact Information form must be completed and submitted to the NDIIS interoperability team after the completion of technical and user acceptance testing of the interface and prior to the production go live. The form requires the provider site/provider group to designate post-go live contacts for all areas of the HL7 interface.

NDIIS Automated Testing Site

The automated site allows providers the opportunity to submit an HL7 message to the North Dakota Immunization Information System (NDIIS) and receive an immediate response that can be used to attest for Meaningful Use Stage 1. Providers who wish to establish interoperability with the NDIIS will first need to prove they can successfully submit a valid message to this test site.

NDIIS Interoperability Participating Providers

The North Dakota Immunization Information System is connected to almost 400 individual provider locations across North Dakota and western Minnesota. Providers listed as "In Queue" have submitted their registration of intent to the NDDoH team and are currently awaiting invitation to begin the formal on-boarding process. Providers with a status of "On Boarding" have completed their direct connect MOU with the NDIIS or their ND Health Information Network Participation Agreement and have submitted their initial on-boarding questionnaire to the NDDoH team. Providers currently engaged in "Technical Testing" have completed their Phase I on-boarding call, gap analysis and code review and have started submitting HL7 test messages to the NDIIS test system. Providers with a status of "In Production" have achieved on-going submission of immunizations from their EHR to the NDIIS.
