North Dakota Medical Facility Table Top and Full Scale Exercises - 2018

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has put forth requirements for hospitals and long term care facilities that include one table top exercise (TTX) and one full scale exercise (FSE) to be completed by December 31, 2018.

Listed below are links to each exercise which includes a brief overview of the exercise to include exercise prerequisites and exercise objectives.  Additionally, each exercise has preregistration requirements and a registration link. 

The North Dakota Long Term Care Association also has a TTX that will be held during their annual conference.  A link is provided to access the Long Term Care Conference registration page. 

Please note that to receive the proper credit for these exercises the CMS requires participation, not observation in the exercises being held.

Bismarck Full Scale Exercise: March 22, 2018

  • The exercise will consist of a flood scenario requiring evacuation of a medical facility. All necessary training and exercise will be conducted as part of the exercise. Participants will receive instruction and hands on practice to meet objectives.

Jamestown Full Scale Exercise: May 16, 2018

  • The exercise will consist of a flood scenario requiring evacuation of a medical facility. All necessary training and exercise will be conducted as part of the exercise. Participants will receive instruction and hands on practice to meet objectives.

Bismarck Summer Storm Exercise: Tabletop May 16, 2018

  • The exercise will consist of a summer storm scenario requiring the activation of a medical facility Emergency Operation Center (EOC).
  • There are no prerequisites for this exercise. ICS training is highly encouraged.
  • Registration deadline: May 2, 2018
  • Registration information: You are not required to register with the NDDoH if you are currently a Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health Coalition member of the Healthcare Preparedness Advisory Coalition.

Bismarck Summer Storm Exercise: Full Scale July 18, 2018

  • The exercise will consist of a summer storm scenario requiring the activation of a medical facility Emergency Operation Center (EOC). Participants will set up individual EOCs in facilities and practice a communication link to an outside source to meet objectives.
  • There are no prerequisites for this exercise. ICS training is highly encouraged.
  • Registration deadline: May 2, 2018

Dickinson Full Scale Exercise: October 10, 2018

  • This full scale exercise gives partners a chance to test their internal and external response, on dealing with a winter storm.
  • Prerequisites (recommended but not required): ICS 100 and ICS 700; Knowledge of HAN Assets

NDLTCA Conference: A table top exercise is also available at the North Dakota Long Term Care Association (NDLTCA) Professional Development Conference on May 2, 2018.
