The North Dakota Department of Health dashboard is updated daily by 11 am and includes cases reported through the previous day. The investigations are ongoing and information on the website is likely to change as cases are investigated. Data regarding vaccination status may be delayed during investigation. The information contained in this dashboard is the most up to date and will be different than previous news releases. This dashboard supersedes information from previous news releases or social media postings.

Definitions

Breakthrough: A vaccine breakthrough infection is defined as the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA or antigen in a respiratory specimen collected from a person ≥14 days after they have been fully vaccinated.

Fully Vaccinated: A fully vaccinated individual is defined as one who has received all doses in their primary vaccine series (e.g. first dose J&J, second dose Moderna or Pfizer).  This is not influenced by additional or booster doses.

Reinfection: A reinfection is defined as the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA or antigen in a respiratory specimen collected from a person ≥90 days after they have previously tested positive.  This definition went into effect June 27, 2021.  For data prior to June 27, 2021, view here.

Deaths of individuals where COVID-19 was listed as the cause of death on the official death record, but there was not a positive test result. These individuals are presumed positive by the health care provider based on symptoms and/or exposure.
